“Lo que dice la ley es que los estudiantes van a tener la opción de decir un mensaje, el que ellos deseen sin interferencia alguna de los maestros y ese mensaje puede ser desde kindergarten hasta doceavo grado. Cuando vino a mi comité pregunté qué pasa si el mensaje ese es un mensaje satánico, qué pasa si es un mensaje discriminatorio? Entonces, lo pueden hacer y los maestros no pueden decirle nada. Pueden decir el mensaje y no pueden controlar el contenido, lo cual un muchacho es una mente maleable, es una mente joven, que tenga 7, 8, 10 años el mensaje que puede dar no tiene supervisión ninguna de los maestros”.
“Va a ser a una hora determinada, por ejemplo por las mañanas. Cuando nosotros íbamos al colegio nosotros teníamos la oración o meditación. En este momento se puede para un muchacho y decir yo soy musulmán y predicar el Corán, o la Torá, o se puede parar un neonazi y decir yo predico la pureza de razas. El problema es que no hay control con los muchachos”.
“Se supone que sea un período de tiempo determinado, ahora el mensaje no se puede controlar. Por ley no se puede controlar, yo estoy seguro que muchos maestros van a querer controlarlo. Aquí nosotros tenemos una diferencia de cultura y de religiones que te mandas a tu hijo al colegio y esperas que no sea influenciado por otros elementos. Es bueno que estén expuestos a otras culturas, pero el problemas es que es la falta de madurez. Estoy seguro que algunas agrupaciones van a tratar de mandar niños con mensajes para que otros oigan. Si se hubiera dejado como un momento de meditación callada, eso hubiera sido lo ideal”.
Acerca del PIP: “La ley esa es una de las prioridades del gobernador. Esa ley estaba prácticamente muerta en la Legislatura y la revivieron en el Senado. Es una ley que ha sido influenciada en gran parte por las compañías de seguro, o sea, para beneficiar a las compañías de seguro, para hacer más fácil que las compañías de seguro puedan rehusar pagar los reclamos”.
